Dr. Brookins Santelises is presently Assistant Superintendent in Boston Public Schools in charge of Pilot Schools and member of the Targeted Leadership Consulting Curriculum Development Team. Ms Brookins Santelises has spent several years working side by side with the Targeted Leadership Consultants and was instrumental in facilitating training and providing coaching for multiple teacher and administrator teams in Elizabeth New Jersey and New Bedford, Massachusetts. Dr. Brookins Santelises served as Assistant Superintendent in charge of Professional Development in Boston Schools prior to her current position. She is a graduate of Harvard University's Urban Superintendent's program and worked closely with Boston Public Schools' superintendent, Thomas Payzant, and senior-level district leadership to create a district-wide professional development plan to support whole school improvement efforts.

Previously, Dr. Brookins Santelises was a member of the founding school leadership team that created a new, two-campus, year-round K-8 public school in the Bedford-Stuyvesant district of New York City, where she was responsible for designing and developing the school's middle grades program.

Dr. Brookins Santelises also served as the executive director of the Algebra Project in New York City and as the national director of teacher placement and professional development for Teach For America. After all, education is freedom.
